Description
The Modesto Fit is Freenote's newest denim cut in their (now) 7 style lineup. They call it their "workwear fit", and we're inclined to agree, as these feature a high rise and a full top block with wide, straight legs. They'll fit over boots without issue, and have enough room to really move around in, being pretty unrestrictive in general. This edition takes an even more retro interpretation of workwear, adding a buckleback to the rear waistband for another easy way you can secure the fit.
The details are important too, and they weren't skipped — from the copper rivets to the flat-felled seams and 1/8" double needle stitching, the construction is extremely solid, durable and robust while remaining traditional. They have the classic five pocket configuration, with acorn shaped back pockets and a copper button fly. Inside, the pockets are cut from a vintage Japanese herringbone stripe fabric.
This batch is done up in an 11oz natural 100% cotton selvedge canvas from Japan, complete with subtle textural variations across the face, and cotton neps throughout. It's one of our favorite non-indigo fabrics ever, a perfect medium-weight that breaks in quickly and ages beautifully, softening and taking in color from whatever you end up doing in them. The fabric is also sanforized, meaning it's been treated to shrink as little as possible, taking the guesswork and stress out of sizing.
Fits true to size. Wash cold and dry delicate or hang dry.
